Astrokid is the first generative project from Teens On Acid on the Avalanche Blockchain, with a core collection of 3306 randomly generated and unique PFP’s. What makes the project really interesting outside of the phenomenal artwork is the multi-chain aspect.
Although Astrokid is not the first project to consider cross-chain releases, they are certainly pioneering the way forward. The ultimate goal is to open up the Astrokid brand to a wider audience and to inform the individual NFT communities about the possibilities of other chains.
Inspired by the nostalgia of 80s and 90’s comics and cartoons, coupled with Australian neo-pop artist Josh Thorsen’s unique style, Astrokid is like no other project you have seen before. Josh first started to develop the Astrokid character as a mascot for Teens On Acid back in 2015, not knowing that it would eventually become an NFT with its own dedicated metaverse as it evolved.
Releasing in stages on three separate chains, there will be 3306 total NFTs split between Fantom, Avalanche and Polygon, each chain with its own unique collection, equally split into 1,111 unique NFTs per chain, including nine 1/1 Legendary pieces.
The NFTs will be generated from 8 to 10 attributes such as Mouth and Background, with up to 30 different variations to draw from. To increase overall collectibility, each blockchain will also have unique traits specific to the network.
Astrokid has a multi-stage project map in development, which also includes Teens On Acid’s other collections TOAClub and AcidCats. Planned developments include a curated collection of Astrokids using colourways and traits not featured in the original mint as well as additional stages of progression for the Astrokid brand, rumoured to be utility and graphical variations.
The Astrokids Avalanche collection will launch on the 16th of February at 7 pm UTC and is sure to be a sell-out.
