Web3 has altered the course of technology as we know it; including the way we look at software development, online community interaction, investing, and most importantly, jobs.
According to Microsoft’s Work Trend Index 2022, 51% of gen Z and 48% of millennials envision working in the metaverse in the next two years. An extraordinary statistic, considering that the metaverse itself has only been in and around our periphery for a small number of years.
So, why jump ship from what you know and love to work in Web3?

There is no denying that the main motivator behind working is money. So let’s begin there.
The salary of a Web3 Software Developer is an extraordinary $70,000 to $350,000+. This is markedly higher than the $54,000 – $111,000 range that is outlined on the US wage resource PayScale for a standard Software Developer.
The influx of dollars in the ecosystem compared to both the competition and the barrier of entry makes it very enticing for skilled software developers to hone their knowledge of cryptocurrency, and make the swap to a more decentralized line of work.

Welcome to the next generation of technology. This is where the sharpest, most pioneering and daring projects and individuals meet to execute ideas and share knowledge and projections of the future.
While it is certainly still a wild west compared to our known working world, Web3 presents unique opportunities to network with individuals from all walks of life with diverse skill sets and experiences. This can present a skilled and driven individual (yourself, perhaps) the opportunity to innovate in a space where innovation is the name of the game.

This isn’t to say that individuals aren’t still wisely investing in Web2 ventures, it’s just to say that they have half a mind for more freedom of finance and decentralization.
Community engagement is an essential part of any successful Web3 project, and this is a testament to how important connection, transparency, inclusivity and collaboration is within the space. This can only be a good thing, as we see a more communal trend toward the creation of game-changing projects and products.
4) Opportunity to progress
2022 saw companies such as Nike, Adidas, Reddit, eBay, Samsung, McDonalds and Coca-cola all invest in NFT ventures alone. This speaks to the level of adoption that a few years ago, the crypto community only dreamed of.
Now, with giant companies such as Tesla, Microsoft and Google also investing in cryptocurrency/DeFi, there is a momentum forming that presents massive opportunities for individuals.
