The Blockfather recently asked the Avalanche community what features they would like to see in an NFT marketplace that would make them proud to use and visit. We collected the comments and feedback to create the ultimate Avax community dream marketplace!

The comments section was a really interesting place to spend some time. The community suggested some great features and the majority of them are neither outlandish nor unachievable.

Experience

Users overwhelmingly voted for better UI and UX features such as easier visibility of NFT holdings, simplified site navigation, greater mobile experience and a “my basket’ feature that is commonplace on traditional marketplace and shopping sites. Users also requested a Tag feature so they can refine searches and an accurate integrated rarity score so they don’t have to rely on 3rd party developer sites that currently have discrepancies.

Data

Price charts with volume and number of sales by date, not just current total volume and floor price. Ability to embed data directly into another site, so that projects can display verified collection figures on their official website for members. We are looking to add this functionality to our website. Devs if you’re reading Do Something, DM us on Twitter!

Communication and Community

There were a number of comments relating to marketplaces becoming a better social hub. The ability to converse directly with the seller of an NFT, perhaps to negotiate an offer. Feeds for favourite artists that would allow them to reach outside of the traditional Twitter and Discord servers, helping to update and attract new potential investors. Upcoming project pages that would allow fledgling projects another platform to gather fans.

This social hub would have to have a great atmosphere to succeed, making it a place to hang out and spend time with other people, in the metaverse. We believe that this is something that will be realised in 2022.

Protection

In-built insurance for platform-promoted projects so that “rugs” become harder to accomplish and there is less chance of projects not delivering on their promises post-mint.

NFT themselves

The ability to sort NFTs into collections, much like we do with our photo albums and music collections already. As NFT projects grow we expect to see not only traditional art but video, music, photography and other media being represented in the scene.
