6 Weeks On, Avax Machina Update

The Avax Machina project began its mint on the 30th March 2022 but the journey started in Autumn 2021 when we connected with the artist Froyd during one of our earliest AMA sessions for the site. There was such good energy between us that we knew he had to be the artist for Avax Machina and it is a partnership that has produced some epic art and lifelong friendships along the way.

We pride ourselves on our transparency and hope to see projects becoming more transparent with their community, so we thought it would be a good idea to lay out what we have achieved so far, where we are going and what we have planned for Avax Machina.

Shortly before the mint we attended the Avalanche Summit in Barcelona and met with people from all over the industry, forging connections and strengthening ties in person, we also hosted an event and it was great to meet with so many interesting and talented people.

Avax Machina’s mint was hit by some unforeseen circumstances. Having just landed back home after a fantastic summit there was a significant Avax price surge just before launch, due in part to the launch of Defi Kingdom’s latest update. This event and some other factors upped the token price significantly and meant that our locked-in 1.6 AVAX price was now much more than originally anticipated when converting it to USD.

The NFT scene has also taken a hit on Avalanche, just look at CryptoSlam, luck and timing went against us here.

Although we have a wide reach through our website and social channels, we felt that we needed to try and engage as much of the Avalanche community as possible during the build-up to mint, so we decided to collaborate with two influencers that could help us reach a different set of audiences such as the Turkish and Asian communities that we could not actively engage with because of our native English restrictions.

In hindsight, these collaborations appeared to generate lots of engagement but not in the way that we imagined. We feel giveaways are a useful tool but should be used sparingly as an unintended consequence will be the attraction of people who want to win giveaways, instead of real engagement.

It’s painful for us to say that Twitter and Avalanche marketplaces do not currently display the true detail of Avax Machina, although we can say that Kalao is currently working on the next version of their marketplace which will include a much higher resolution theatre mode when released. Froyd is such a gifted artist and responsible for the incredible 5k resolution art, so we are eagerly anticipating the new update as you will be truly blown away by his talent and incredible attention to detail.

With all of this being said, we are overjoyed that so many people participated in our mint, at the time of writing we currently stand at 359 minted Machinas and over 166 unique wallet addresses.
We have a wholesome and healthy Discord community that is actively engaged in the future of Avax Machina via the Alpha Holder Chat, so many creative ideas are being thrown around and we are encouraging and nurturing as many as we can.

Our holders are currently contributing to the creation of the true community-driven lore behind Avax Machina & the future of the developing novel in fortnightly brainstorming sessions hosted by Froyd, live in the Discord. Froyd has hosted four sessions since Round 1 of The Twisted Sister Machina hunt, where holders were required to team up and submit their Machina alongside lore that they themselves had to come up with and create. These sessions have since expanded on what began as a rather broad and loose story into a promising narrative with multiple moving parts.

Holders have access to an open Google Doc which is constantly being added to and elaborated on. These stories, the ideas and the world-building continues to grow in collaboration with the original visions of Froyd and the incredible ideas coming from verified holders. Creators and artists are joining from all walks of the AVAX scene & the sci-fi narrative that has been born is quickly becoming the most valuable side of the expanding Machina Universe. 

The next lore session will be held soon and we encourage all holders to come and help us shape the future of the story, all ideas are welcome and valued highly. Round 2 of The Twisted Sister hunt will commence soon, so if you’re looking to join the build team, your Machina is your way in. 

Donation to Girls Who Code

We pledged to donate 100 Avax to the fantastic charity Girls Who Code, with the recent market conditions, this amount unfortunately does not meet their minimum requirements for an officially acknowledged donation.

Recognition is extremely important to both us and the community for the sake of transparency and so we are currently discussing with GWC how we can donate and be acknowledged, the 100 AVAX is locked off and waiting to be sent with adequate proof of the transaction.

The Prime Number Market Cap

The Prime Number Market Cap was our core utility feature for Avax Machina and we are aware that with recent market conditions, this is looking to be a far way off in terms of achievability. The total funds allocated for the PNMC are secure and locked off for the future and we believe Avax will win in the long term and become a top 5 token within the next 24 months. 

However, we are prepared to adjust our plans accordingly, using the Voting Authorisation Bot that Avax Rarity has built for us. This will enable us to propose a different course of action that will be voted on by current holders to determine the next steps for the funds, options range from more frequent lower amounts or even one big event that equally airdrops all the remaining funds to holders, but we will currently stand by the 15 AVAX airdrops for the time being as Avalanche can certainly achieve these milestones given the right circumstances.

Live Discord Parties

We planned to host a Live Discord Party for each and every PNMC milestone, however, with the current market conditions, this has sadly not been possible since the first Live Discord Party. We are fully prepared to host and engage the community at a moment’s notice. Our last party was an outstanding success and during this event, we distributed our first PNMC 15 AVAX airdrop and gave away over 15 NFTs. We are eagerly waiting for the next opportunity to repeat this success.

Future Drops

Another feature of being an Avax Machina Holder is exclusive access to our next project. We have been quietly working in the background and can comfortably say that we will have some very exciting news related to our next project coming soon. We are confident that this project will be unlike anything the NFT scene has witnessed to date.

Funds

We currently have a treasury of 401 AVAX after associated costs, this will be used to service the PNMC, GWC donation (although donation could possibly be made in Fiat currency), Live Discord Parties and other marketing costs. We thought it would be best to delegate this AVAX in monthly intervals to gain interest and also to benefit the Avalanche Ecosystem rather than sitting in a dormant Metamask Wallet.

We had hoped to completely sell out our first collection and use this momentum to launch into our next exciting project. Market conditions have meant that we had to temper our plans, and focus on only one goal and that is to see it through to the end and deliver everything we have promised. 

We are not going anywhere and although this may be a slow mint, we believe in Avax Machina, the future of the Avalanche Blockchain and one thing is for certain, we are still creating and building and there is much more to come.
