Avalanche has finally launched the long-awaited Core Wallet, first announced at the 2022 Avalanche Summit in Barcelona in March.

Core is a non-custodial browser extension for Google Chrome, created from the ground up by the Ava Labs team to fix the frequent pain points experienced by Web3 users on Avalanche.

New users and old will no longer be held back by cumbersome interfaces and mismatched products when participating in the growing Web3 ecosystem on Avalanche.

An all-in-one operating system for Subnets, Bridges, NFT and Avalanche Apps, Core now automates a lot of the functions that previously needed tutorials such as adding tokens and networks and will soon become a one-stop-shop for all your Avalanche needs with future updates.

A platform for everything Web3 is certainly a welcome addition and is sure to make the switch to Avalanche an even easier process.  The built-in Bridge for native Bitcoin via the Core Wallet potentially unlocks over $500 Billion in value.

Core has a swap function that allows you to exchange hundreds of coins directly inside the Core Wallet, the ability to fund Core with a few clicks, and our favourite of the launch features, The Collectibles gallery which will allow you to display and manage your NFTs in one place. Wow.

Initially targeting existing Avalanche users, making the process easy for newcomers to the Avalanche Blockchain and the Bitcoin community is a great place to start. Future updates will also allow Subnets, Ethereum and other blockchain users to transition to Core.
