The best time to build is when people aren’t watching. That way you can make mistakes, learn from them, and master your craft before their eyes are on you.
Throughout history, it has been a common theme for massive companies to emerge on the back of a crisis. Soon after, they reach a level of success that seemed a distant dream at the time of launch.

While the rest of the world was reeling after the global financial crisis of 1907, General Motors launched. In the middle of the 1953 recession, Burger King was founded. During the Great Depression, both Disney and The Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) emerged. Extraordinarily, you could venture down any main street in a capital city of the western world today, and see products from all of these companies within walking distance of each other.
When your back is up against the wall, you are forced to think quickly and come up with unique and innovative solutions. Perhaps this is why such ingenuity was born of the mentioned ventures.
One venture we are all familiar with is Avalanche.
A creation launched during the last crypto bear market (’18’-’20), the Avalabs team has come along in leaps and bounds so far with its blazingly fast low cost, eco-friendly infrastructure, and impressive subnet technology.
Being one of the fastest smart contract platforms measured by time-to-finality, there is a case for Avalanche becoming the gold standard for blockchains. If that case is fulfilled – it is another testament to the hard-work, consistency and belief of a team when the going gets tough.
We are in the middle of a dark, historical period for Cryptocurrency and Web3 at large. Is it not the ideal metric to ascertain who shows their value? Projects that are building regardless of the challenges of the current market are undoubtedly committed despite circumstance.
Take note. Trust the ones who stuck it out, and remember their persistence and hard work. It is a very good measure of the drive, vision and value of a project. Remember who is here during the bad times, so when the good times roll – you are already on the wagon.
